Katie Holmes 'dating musician'

Katie Holmes is apparently dating a jazz musician.

The actress is said to have been spending increasing amounts of time with Peter Cincotti over the past few weeks.

Sources have shared that not only is the 34-year-old besotted with the dashing pianist's looks, but the pair also have mutual interests and are well suited to each other.

"It's early days, but Katie and Peter have been on quite a few dates," a source told British magazine Grazia.

"They met up two weeks ago at the New York Observer's 25th anniversary party. They have a lot in common - he's a total stage buff."

The Italian-American musician has enjoyed huge success in Italy.

Sources say the singer-and-songwriter has known Katie for a number of years and admired her work as an actress ever since they first met.

Peter, 29, is thought to have wooed traditionalist Katie over by acting in a typically gentlemanly fashion.

"They have only been seeing each other for a few weeks but he's incredibly charming," an insider explained. "[Peter is] the type to buy her flowers and treat her like a lady."

Peter has managed to make Katie's friends swoon, too. He's reportedly convinced Katie's friends that he's a suitable candidate to date her in just a few short weeks.

"Katie's had a few dates but nothing has come of them," a source continued. "But her friends are happy she's seeing Peter, they think he could be a good fit."
