Kelly Clarkson thinks the celebrity world can be 'fake and ridiculous' at times.
The American songstress was catapulted onto the international music scene after winning the first season of television series American Idol in 2002.
Although she is now a global star, Kelly doesn't understand the celebrity mentality at times, and prefers to maintain a low-key lifestyle.
' laugh at people who go to places just to be seen,' she explained in an interview with Closer magazine. 'At the start I was told I should do that too, but it's fake and ridiculous to me. I don't understand it.'
Kelly appreciates the perks of being famous though. The 29-year-old star loves being able to get a reservation in a fully-booked eatery.
'Well, I do love it when you call a restaurant and they're booked, then you have an assistant call, dropping your name and somehow a table is found,' she smiled.
''ve never dropped it myself though, I'd feel like a fool.'
