Kelly Clarkson admits she's a "crier" when asked about her talent show judging qualities.
The singer is a mentor on upcoming US reality TV show Duets and says she can't help but get emotional over the contestants' performances and back stories.
Kelly is judging alongside Sugarland star Jennifer Nettles, soul sensation John Legend and singer Robin Thicke and added that she is too passionate about her role to keep her feelings under control.
"There's two criers – that would be me and Jennifer," she told Access Hollywood. "That's OK – we're in it together. I just can't help it! I get so passionate about it [and] it's so touching, the stories."
Kelly also admitted that her experience on American Idol hasn't helped her as much as she thought it would.
The 30-year-old won the talent show in 2002 and has enjoyed a high-flying career since.
"I will admit it's been hard, the first three episodes. But yesterday we shot the fourth episode and it's getting way easier," she said. "I think that I came in thinking I was from '[American] Idol' and I had all this like, expertise on it and [thought] 'Oh, this is going to be easy'. No— it's a lot of work!"
