Osbourne wrote in her column for British Closer magazine: 'Some reports say Cheryl Cole had to leave US X Factor because American audiences couldn't understand her Geordie accent. My uncle comes from Newcastle and has been over in the US nearly 30 years, yet people still have trouble understanding him!'
She added: 'But I'm sad for her, because it's something out of her control and I like to see fellow Brits coming over here and doing well. It's really unfortunate.'
