Hailey, who played Alice Pieszecki in the US lesbian drama, intends to boycott the company after a flight attendant told her it was a “family” airline.
She tweeted: 'I have been discriminated against by @SouthwestAir. [The] flight attendant said that it was a ‘family’ airline and kissing was not OK.
'I want to know what Southwest Airlines considers a 'family'. I know plenty of wonderful same-sex families I would like to introduce them to. Boycott SouthwestAir if you are gay. They don't like us.'
The 40-year-old actress had been travelling with an unidentified girlfriend from Baltimore to St Louis.
And Osbourne, 26, has today said that the American airline’s “archaic” attitude makes her feel “sick”.
She tweeted: 'Dear @SouthwestAir, your archaic thinking makes me sick. Your discrimination towards your passengers is deplorable. I will NEVER fly Southwest!”
The airline issued a statement, saying that it had “received several passenger complaints characterising the behaviour [of Hailey and her girlfriend] as excessive”.
It continued: 'Our crew, responsible for the comfort of all customers on board, approached the passengers based solely on behaviour and not gender. The conversation escalated to a level that was better resolved on the ground, as opposed to in-flight.
'We regret any circumstance where a passenger does not have a positive experience on Southwest and we are ready to work directly with the passengers involved to offer our heartfelt apologies for falling short of their expectation.'
