The pair divorced after 14 years of marriage in February, just days before Kelsey married British airhostess Kayte Walsh.
Talking to Piers Morgan for his CNN show, he said that the writing was on the wall for him and Camille from the start.
“I think she married me because I was Frasier,” he said.
“Frasier had this great wonderful life... he was stylish... and just a little gay... Kelsey Grammer is a different story. You got home and Kelsey Grammer was somebody different.”
The 56-year-old accused his ex of using threat of divorce as a ‘tactic’.
“Camille asked for a divorce really almost the first day we were married,” he said. “It stayed that way for a long time.
“I would give a piece of advice to women who say ‘I want a divorce’ as some kind of tactic. Because if you say you want a divorce enough times, you are going to get one.”
The former Cheers star insisted that Camille just wanted to be famous, which is why he encouraged her to do The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.
“Whether or not it worked well for her doesn't matter... it was my way of saying, ‘Look, you always wanted to be famous. Here you go’,” he explained.
“You still get all those things that come along for the ride, which I think is what she was most interested in.”
Camille has since moved on with toy boy Dimitri Charalambopoulos, although she and Kelsey remain locked in a custody battle over their kids Mason and Jude.
