Kid Rock pledged his allegiance to Mitt Romney once again on Monday night when the Republican presidential candidate hit up Manchester, New Hampshire, for a final rally ahead of Election Day on Tuesday (November 6).
The singer hit the stage to perform his track, "Born Free," which the Romney campaign adopted early on as its theme song. According to ABC News, the Detroit-bred rocker stood on top of piano and performed the track as Romney made his way to the podium to meet his supporters before they headed to the polls.
"I have to say thank you to Kid Rock," his wife, Ann Romney, told the crowd. "Let me tell you, we are kids of Detroit, Kid Rock and I are, and Mitt is a kid of Detroit, and we love Michigan. We love Kid Rock. We love that he stood up for us and helped us out for all this time."
Romney then addressed the crowd of approximately 12,000, sharing his hope that he can win the election. "Together we must lead America to a better place. We're one day away from fresh start, one day away from the first day of a new beginning," he said, adding, "My conviction is that better days are ahead and that's not based on promises and hollow rhetoric but on solid plans and proven results, and on an unshakeable belief in the greatness of the American spirit."
Kid Rock has long showed his support to presidential hopeful Romney. In addition to his appearance with him on Monday night, he's also performed at a rally before the Michigan primary back in February and introduced Romney and vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan at several events.
"I'm a supporter of less government, that's kind of where my beliefs lie. But Mitt Romney sat down with me, we had a conversation, and ... I had a list of questions I asked him," Rock told back in October, weeks before Americans would head out to the polls to rock the vote. "I said to him 'You know, the city of Detroit, I guarantee, is going to vote Democrat, but if you're elected, will you help me help the city of Detroit and the people that it holds?' And he said 'Absolutely I will.' And I was like 'All right, cool, I'll vote for you.' "
Romney's rally took place the same day that President Obama held a rally in Columbus, Ohio, that was attended by Jay-Z and Bruce Springsteen. "It is an incredible honor to have Jay-Z and Bruce Springsteen on the same bill," the POTUS said of the A-list support he's received from the musicians. "Not only are they on my iPod... it's also because both of them tell an American story."
