Kim Kardashian insists her husband Kanye West is serious about running for President of the United States, and has warned him he must make it to a second term so they can decorate the White House.
The Stronger rapper surprised the world during the MTV Video Music Awards in August (15) by announcing his desire to run for office while accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. It was unclear whether his desires were genuine, but his wife Kim is adamant he's putting his heart into the venture.
"I did not. That was news to me," she tells talk show host Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday's (30Sept15) show when asked if she knew about his speech.
"That was not a discussion in our household. He is serious and I believe he is serious and I know that if he puts his mind to something he will do his best. I don't know if that was planned and I just didn't know about it or if he came up with that idea right then and there.
"I was thinking about how much fun it would be to be in the White House. I was joking with him: 'You will have to make it to a second term,' because he loves redecorating, and I was like, 'You are going to have to redo the whole White House, and we aren't going to be able to enjoy it, so we are just going to have to go with the flow.'"
Ellen quizzed Kim on whether her husband surprises her with big news like that all the time, to which the star laughed and admitted she was astonished.
During her appearance on the programme, the 34-year-old beauty also touched on the topic of her unborn child. She and Kanye are currently expecting their second tot together, a younger brother for their daughter North, two.
"I do like the name Easton. Easton West," Kim added. "I don't think my husband likes that name, but I do like it. I don't think we'll go another direction. It's definitely not South, every time someone says South, I just want to roll my eyes."
