The talented singer shot to fame in British pop group Girls Aloud, alongside Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle and Sarah Harding.
Kimberley loves being a celebrity, although she admits she doesn’t see the point in pretending she’s pals with other stars and finds it strange when others do so.
“I know celebrities do the ‘pretending to be friends’ thing, but I find it a bit weird,” wrote the beauty in her column for the British edition of OK! magazine.
Kimberley has a close friendship with her Girls Aloud colleagues Cheryl and Nicola, so she doesn’t feel the need to promote any false relationships with other celebrities. She also says she’d never assume a fellow star knew who she was just because she’s in the public eye too. The modest singer admits she’d die of embarrassment if she initiated a meeting with a big star and they had no idea of her identity.
“I don’t like to assume someone will know me just because I’m famous... If anyone says hello to me, I’m always friendly, but I’d never start a conversation as I’d cringe if they didn’t know who I was!” she laughed.
Nevertheless, Kimberley says she would absolutely have to talk to her musical idol Beyoncé Knowles if she ever bumped into her. Kimberley has been a big admirer of the R&B icon since she catapulted to fame in the band Destiny’s Child, so she would have no choice but to reveal her admiration to the talented musician.
“But I’d do that embarrassing fan thing if I met someone like Beyoncé, and tell them I love them, even if I wasn’t in the public eye!” she confessed.
