L.A. Reid has announced he is leaving the US X Factor after just two seasons.
L.A. has been mentoring the over 25s category on the show alongside judges Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell.
The judge and CEO of Epic Records instead wants to concentrate on his record company which he says he's "kind of neglected."
"It saddens me a little bit, but only a little bit," he told Access Hollywood of his decision to leave.
"I have a company to run that I've kind of neglected."
The music mogul said being on the show was a "nice break" from his day job, but he is now keen to return to work.
L.A. admitted that he'll miss the show's head judge and his longtime colleague Simon.
"I love Simon. We have a great relationship," he revealed.
"We have fun together, we talk, we laugh, we do bad things, we're friends."
Before he takes his final bow, L.A. hopes that his sole remaining contestant Tate Stevens can triumph against semi-finalists Carly Rose Sonenclar, Emblem 3 and Fifth Harmony.
