LADY SOVEREIGN has been arrested after she spat at a doorman at a gay club in Australia.
The rapper and singer was charged with assault after she attacked the bouncer after she was thrown out of the Beat nightclub in Brisbane this weekend.
Lady Sovereign, 23, real name Louise Amanda Harman, pleaded guilty to assault and drunk and disorderly charges, according to Billboard.
Brisbane magistrate Brendan Butler told Harman spitting on the doorman had "serious health implications" before she fined her $400 (£220) and ordered her to also pay the doorman $200 (£110).
Writing on her Twitter page, Harman, who had only been in Australia for seven hours prior to her arrest on tour to promote her most recent album Jigsaw, , criticised the police and said she had been provoked.
She wrote: "Brisbane police need to go catch some REAL criminals.....what a waste.
"Spitting in someone's face is nasty, but how about a guy dressed up as a girl running at you in the toilets and punching you in the head?"
In capital letters, she added: "YES THATS WHAT HAPPENED PRIOR TO THE SPITTING... SO EVERYONE PLEASE STOP CALLING ME NASTY, IF YOU WAS THERE YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND.
"THE TRANSVESTITE MUST OF BEEN A REGULAR BECAUSE I DIDNT SEE NO ONE DRAGGING HIS ASS OUT OF THE CLUB THAT NIGHT."
