Saturday Night Live fans taken to Twitter and Facebook to tear strips off the performance by Lana Del Rey on the weekend.
The audience hated it.
In an unusual move by producer Lorne Michaels Lana was chosen despite not having released an album. Michaels reacted to the media hype to book her, something equally unusual in this social media world.
Perez Hilton wrote, "It wasn't just me! Seems like the OVERWHELMING consensus is that @LanaDelRey was horrible on SNL".
User comments included "I think lana del rey is a cyborg. Owned and created by someone. A machine human" and 'Lana Del Rey single-handedly ruins SNL".
What does Lorne Michaels have to say? Not much on Twitter. He hasn't tweeted since April 27, 2010.
Juliette Lewis has. She wrote, "Wow watching this 'singer' on SNL is like watching a 12 yearold in their bedroom when theyre pretending to sing and perform #signofourtimes".
Lana's debut album 'Born To Die' will be released through Universal Music next week.
