The older sister of Michael Jackson, who is currently taking part in the latest season of the Celebrity Apprentice on US television, was appearing on the Ellen show when she was asked about his death.
'It's been a tough time, it really has, you've absolutely no idea,' the 54-year-old said. 'Michael was one of the most loved people in the world.'
She then told about the day the King of Pop died.
'I was at home and my father called me… He said you've got to get over to his house,' she said.
'Then he called me again and said, no, go to the hospital… It was just devastating.'
She continued, 'I then lost my way to the hospital. I didn't know where I was because I was so nervous.'
LaToya said she repeatedly asked her mother's assistant how he was but would not get an answer – until her mother grabbed the phone herself.
'She screamed as loud as she could 'He is dead!'' continued LaToya.
'I almost crashed the car. I started crying. I went hysterical and I started begging people on the street to drive me because my legs wouldn't work. I was asking everybody. I couldn't believe it. My heart just fell to the ground.'
