LeAnn Rimes has to stop recording her songs after a few lines because she breaks down in tears.
The How Do I Live singer is making her music comeback after a three-year break with her first single with Sony's RCA Records, called The Story.
She admits getting back into the studio has been an emotional experience because the songs she has written touch her deeply, and she usually ends up in tears.
"When I'm recording songs I let myself break down, those songs have literally made me so emotional," she tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper. "We do like two lines and I have to stop and pick it back up... That's just part of what makes me, me. I'm so into it and into my music."
LeAnn performed three new songs at a showcase in London on Wednesday (15Jun16) and even got choked up and teary-eyed live on stage.
"Literally cannot get through #thestory without crying," she tweeted afterwards. "So emotional! I think it's the excitement and gratitude getting straight to my (heart)."
"It's hard on stage as I really do get into it and it's hard not to cry," she added to the newspaper. "I listen to what I'm saying and singing, I think about my life, how it relates and it becomes really real."
LeAnn, 33, recently sat down for an interview with Britain's The Sun newspaper and explained that she almost quit music due to the stress and depression she was feeling following her cheating scandal in 2009.
She received backlash online and in the press for having an extramarital affair with actor Eddie Cibrian, who was married to reality TV star Brandi Glanville at the time. LeAnn split from her first husband Dean Sheremet and married Eddie in 2011.
"I'm very happy now," she continues. "We've been married for over five years and I have my two stepsons, but the shaming thing, that's where I had severe anxiety and depression... It was a mistake but it also led me to my marriage. I didn't know how to deal with that and it became this snowball effect."
She went to rehab for treatment in 2012.
