The support and well-wishes continue to pour in for Lil Wayne after the rap star was rushed into the hospital and reported to be in "critical condition" on Friday evening. On Saturday (March 16) Cash Money CEO and Wayne's father figure Birdman paid him a visit according to an online report.
Birdman was seen outside of Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, with his bodyguard beside a black Cadillac Escalade SUV, as evidenced in a picture that was posted on TMZ. The music mogul wasn't the only celeberity to visit Wayne, last night Drake and NBA star Chris Paul were both separately photographed leaving the hospital as well.
Initially it was reported that Wayne was in critical condition after suffering from seizures and had to have his stomach pumped because doctors found high amounts of codeine in his system. It was even reported that the rapper was being "being prepared for his last rites."
The severity of Wayne's condition has been refuted by multiple members of his YMCMB camp. Young Money president Mack Maine blasted TMZ for figuratively trying to "kill a man before his time" and the rapper's reps told that "Lil Wayne is recovering."
There was even a tweet sent out from Wayne's verified account which read: "I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love."
After the news broke on Friday, rappers T.I. and Snoop Dogg and even Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas all took to Twitter to send their love. Today, fellow New Orleans MC Jay Electronica joined in and was joyed that Wayne appears to be doing better than initially reported. "@LilTunechi glad you're well man. don't us like that again. God ain't finish w you yet. sincerely, another uptown n---a," he wrote.
MTV News will continue to report on this story as it develops.
