Lil Wayne has millions of fans, but maybe none bigger than Cash Money CEO Bryan "Birdman" Williams. No matter what the circumstance, Bird has always stood in full support of the star rapper, who he also considers his son, and when it comes to Weezy's latest, the #1 Stunna can't say enough about it.
"With Wayne, it's always, to me, damn near like magic to watch him work and how he go in to do what he do," Birdman told back in February, a little over a month before Cash Money Records released Weezy's 10th solo LP, I Am Not a Human Being II, on Tuesday.
To Birdman, Wayne's creativity is incomparable. He marvels at how the MC can switch modes, offering sonic variation on his flagship Tha Carter album series and the switch to full-on rock mode with Rebirth. "I Am Not a Human is totally different. To have an artist that can do that and be so [mechanical] like he is, he's a gift, and his album is so hard. It's so raw. I think the fans are gonna enjoy it," he gushed. "You always say that because he's so talented, but he just do his thing. He's a monster."
For the most part, IANAHB2 is a free-wheeling rhyme experimentation. On songs like "Days and Days," "Gunwalk" and the Nicki Minaj-assisted bonus track "Lay It Down," Weezy is spewing rap venom, bragging about his MC ability and sexual prowess in equal portions over left-of-center beat selections. While "Beat the Sh--" and "R.A.F." appear to be early fan favorites, Bird has a hard time picking from the 18-track ride. "He got so many, man, so many. What can you expect but for Wayne rappin' his ass off," Bird said. "I be like, 'Damn, man, how can you say so much and do so much?' But he does it all the time."
