It's been less than a week since Lil Wayne was released from prison, and while the rapper has embarked on a whirlwind of celebrations since then, he hasn't forgotten to thank the fans that stood by him throughout the past year.
On Monday (November 8), the Young Money star posted a video to WeezyThanxYou.com, a blog launched so he could communicate with fans during his eight-month prison stint on Rikers Island. In the clip, he's seen thanking his Facebook fanbase.
"What's poppin' to all my Facebook friends? I think there's like 14 million of y'all," Wayne says in the video. "Just know that I send 14 million thank-yous to y'all — thanx-yous to y'all."
Lil Wayne went on to express gratitude for all of the support that came his way. "I couldn't have did it without you," he said. "I won't do it without you."
Wayne shared similar sentiments with MTV News on Sunday in his first public comments since his release.
"I just wanna thank everybody," he told us before his welcome-home party in Miami. "Not only MTV fans, but the fans across the whole world. Most of all, my family. I couldn't do it without them and I would never do it without them."
In October, during a phone call to MTV's "The Seven," Weezy said he awaited the mail daily and estimated that he had received nearly 1 million letters since the start of his sentence in March.
