Lily Allen has accepted damages from French football magazine So Foot after the publication claimed she made remarks about David and Victoria Beckham and Ashley and Cheryl Cole.
Last year the magazine claimed Allen made negative remarks about the celebrities, but the publishers have now accepted she had not given the quotes, reports BBC News.
She had been quoted as describing Victoria Beckham as a "monster" and Cheryl Cole as "stupid and superficial".
Allen's lawyer Mark Thomson said: "The second defendant [So Foot] now accepts that the claimant did not make the statements attributed to her in their magazine and that, contrary to their previous understanding of the position, no interview in fact ever took place."
The amount of damages Allen has received has not been disclosed. As well as paying the damages the publishers of So Foot also apologised to the singer in a statement.
