Lily Allen is allegedly trying to find her place.
The British singer burst on to the music scene in 2006 and became a global success with catchy tunes like Smile and LDN.
After getting married to husband Sam Cooper in 2011 and starting a family, Lily dropped out of the limelight. She dipped her toes back into music with last year's Sheezus, but it failed to set the charts alight. This is one of the reasons being blamed for Lily's recent spate of partying.
"Lily is a bit lost and trying to find her place. She is so extreme and she's used to focusing on being one thing at a time: how to be a pop star, a mum and a wife - she's still working it out. It seems her default mode to go wild because it's what she's always done," a source told British magazine Grazia.
The 30-year-old panicked people last month when she collapsed at Glastonbury festival. After revealing she'd quit drinking in December to "grow up finally", the incident has reportedly worried those close to her.
"It's really hard for Sam. Lily has reverted to the person she said she never wanted to be again. But this is her career and the music industry has changed. Lily needs to evolve, and it's just a bit of a mess as she works out how," the insider said.
However the singer is hard at work on her fourth album, undeterred by the lacklustre response to Sheezus. She also recently signed with IMG models, and is looking ahead to the future.
"Lily has high hopes for the new album. She's been working on it really hard for some time," the source said.
