Lily Allen has said she feels “very proud” after England retained the Ashes against Australia.
The Andrew Strauss-led side secured victory on the fourth day of the fourth test in Melbourne.
England are now 2-1 up going into the final test in Sydney, where a victory will see them win their first series on Australian soil since 1987.
In a message on Twitter, Allen, a key cricket fan, wrote: “Whoooooooo, hooooooooooo . England retain the Ashes on Aussie soil.
“Didn't get to see any of the last 2 tests but very proud! Well done!!!”
Meanwhile, Allen failed to confirm speculation that boyfriend Sam Cooper proposed to her over the Christmas period.
The couple, who have been dating since 2009, are currently on holiday in the Far East.
