Lisa Marie Presley is selling the bulk of Elvis' estate, although she will hang on to Graceland. Her company, Elvis Presley Enterprises, will sell 85 percent of its assets to businessman Robert F.X. Sillerman of SFX Entertainment.
The agreement will pay Presley 53 million dollars cash and absolve her of 25 million dollars in debts owed by the estate. She will also get shares in the new company worth more than 20 million dollars. She will give up the rights to her father's name and image, but she will keep Graceland, its 13 acres of land and many of her father's personal effects. Presley says she's been looking for the past few years to expand the many facets of Elvis Presley Enterprises and make it an even greater force. Sillerman says one of the opportunities he wants to explore is overseas markets. Visitors to Graceland will not notice much difference.
The anniversary of his death will still be marked every August, and the staff at Graceland will stay in place.
