Mama knows best, and apparently, LL Cool J has been paying close attention. When a burglar tried to creep into the "Mama Said Knock You Out" rapper's Los Angeles-area home, Ladies Love took matters into his own hands.
The veteran MC thwarted a robbery attempt at 2 a.m. Wednesday (August 22) and subdued the suspect, holding him until the authorities arrived, TMZ reported. Law enforcement officials told the website that the intruder tripped the "NCIS: Los Angeles" star's alarm system, so Ladies Love went to go check it out and detained the would-be robber until LAPD arrived. It is being reported that the man is in the hospital with a broken nose and jaw.
One of LL's reps confirmed that the rapper is safe but wouldn't dish on the supposed beating that the rapper/actor doled out. "He is committed to keeping his family safe and is cooperating with authorities," the rep said.
The news comes just days after LL's weekend performance at the first-ever MixTape Festival in Hershey, Pennsylvania, alongside The Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, the Wanted and Carly Rae Jepsen. "It was a lot of fun, really exciting, great energy. I thought the crowd was live from beginning to end," LL told. "There are so many people who know me, LL, but have never seen me perform live and don't really know what to expect. So it's always fun to give them a live show, so that they can see the difference between listening to my music and seeing it come to life."
