'Lost' footage of David Bowie performing on Top Of The Pops is set to be broadcast on BBC 2 tonight (December 21).
The clip, which was thought to have been destroyed, sees the singer perform his track 'The Jean Genie'.
Executive producer of Top Of The Pops 2 Mark Cooper told BBC News: Bowie singing 'The Jean Genie' is electric and the kind of piece of archive that not only brings back how brilliant Top Of The Pops could be, but also how a piece of archive can speak to us down the years.
The four-minute clip will be included in Top Of The Pops Christmas Special at 7.30pm (GMT) tonight (December 21).
Meanwhile, a biographer has claimed that it will be “a bit of a miracle” if David Bowie returns to music.
The singer has not released a new album since 2003's 'Reality' and last performed live in 2006, despite calls from his fans to make a comeback.
Paul Trynka, the author of a new Bowie book called Starman, said he would be surprised if the veteran since made new music.
