Louis Tomlinson has turned talent scout in his first step towards becoming a music boss.
The One Direction heartthrob has already began planning for the future, setting up a company to help with his plans to remain relevant in the entertainment business as he gets older.
The first step towards that has involved him judging a talent competition run by Sony to find a new girlband.
"Louis has his business head screwed on and is busy making plans for the future. He's rated very highly at Sony and they knew he'd be great to get on board," an insider told British newspaper The Sun.
"Louis accepted their offer straight away. He has visions of being a music boss in the future and has a good eye for new talent."
The 23-year-old kicked off the new project over the weekend, when he was at auditions in London.
It's claimed Louis looks to Simon Cowell as a kind of mentor and would love to replicate his career. Simon discovered the star and his bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik on The UK X Factor in 2010 and has been a huge supporter of them ever since.
The publication even claims a role as a judge on the reality show could be on the cards for Louis, although that is not confirmed at the moment.
While this is good news for the One Direction star, it may send fans of the band into a tailspin. There has been a lot of speculation about the future of the group of late, with claims Zayn's heart isn't in it anymore and Harry is already making plans for a solo and acting career.
"He wants to leave One Direction on a high, not when they are disappointing fans and drifting out of the spotlight. It's an open secret on the tour that he's planning life beyond the band," a source told British magazine Heat of Harry last year.
