Swedish star Lykke Li has revealed a brand new track, 'Love Me Like I'm Not Made of Stone', taken from her new album, I Never Learn. See the video for the track below.
A delicate, sincere ballad, the video is a simple, but effective affair, showing the singer looking cold and uncomfortable in a bare studio. The album will be released on 5 May 2014, and was co-produced by Lykke Li, Bjorn Yttling and Greg Kurstin. See the video for the track below.
Lykke Li has also released a statement about the new record, promising an intimate listen, as she deals openly with the end of a relationship on the album.
'Every song on the album is a power ballad," she says. "Like one of those old radio stations. This is a slow dance; a slow burner.
I wrote 'No Rest for the Wicked' in Sweden when I was packing up my shit, and I’d just gotten out of a relationship and it was a horrible time. I just had the hurt, shame, sadness, guilt, longing. In the verse, I’m referring to myself pleading guilty but I’m referring to all of us."
