Time to prepare for another Big Mac attack! "Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family" will return for a second season on MTV2 in 2014, and to celebrate, the Pittsburgh spitter will premiere his new video for "S.D.S." on MTV2 on Wednesday at 11 p.m. ET/PT... but only after he hosts a special season-one marathon first.
"I have no idea what we are doing for season two yet, but I assure you that it will be awesome," Mac Miller said in a press release issued by MTV on Tuesday (April 23).
Mac has his sophomore LP, Watching Movies with the Sound Off, to drop before the next season, and earlier this morning, he released the album's first single "S.D.S."
"It just feels good to have a song from the album out. The process is finally beginning. I forgot what it was like to put an album out," he said before giving credit to the song's producer Flying Lotus. "Shouts to Lotus, too, man. That guy right there is important."
On the track, Mac spits a series of fun and free-associative rhymes scattered with pop-culture references. Former MTV "Making the Band" reality rapper Dylan Dilinjah and "X-Files" actor David Duchovny both get shout-outs. "Close my eyes before I cross the street/ A car about to hit me then he oughta beep/ Watchin' 'Dawson's Creek' until I fall asleep/ It's harder than it seems, I'm underwater in my dreams," Mac rhymes, barely taking a breath.
Mac went on a "mild Twitter rant" on Monday about the forthcoming LP. "i've been working harder on this album than any project i have ever been a part of. This is by far the most time i have spent on an album the album has gone thru so much. i only wish u were here to witness this process. but maybe its better u just get the finished product."
