Madonna and Guy Ritchie issue joint statement

MADONNA AND Guy Ritchie have issued a joint statement to clear up "misleading and inaccurate" reports about their divorce.

The former couple released a statement today through Ritchie's publicist that said settlement details would "remain private" but they were both happy with the agreement.

The 50-year-old singer and the 40-year-old film director, who divorced last month, said a statement released to the press suggesting he receieved a £50m payout was "misleading and inaccurate"

In today's statement, the former couple said: "We have tried to maintain a dignified silence regarding the details of our divorce for the last few months whilst accepting the obvious media interest.
"A misleading and inaccurate statement, specifically in relation to the sums of money involved, was wrongly issued to AP this week.

"The financial details of the settlement will remain private, save to say that both of us are happy with our agreement."

It added that their primary concern was "the care and wellbeing of our children".
