MADONNA was booed by angry fans as she showed up an hour late for her London concert.
The Material Girl kept thousands waiting inside a sweltering O2 Arena on Saturday night as she complained about the air conditioning.
Fans, some of whom had paid up hundreds if pounds for their ticket, booed and jeered the singer as she finally turned up for the London leg of her Sticky & Sweet tour.
And when she eventually appeared, she demanded: "All right London, get up."
One fan moaned: "She should apologise for starting late. I love Madonna but it doesn't seem the feeling is mutual for her fans."
And another said: "If the audience can make the effort so should she. I never thought I would hear a crowd booing at a Madonna concert."
A spokeswoman for the O2 Arena said: "Madonna unfortunately came on stage much later than we expected. Madonna requested the arena be a certain temperature - the air conditioning was turned on an hour before Madonna came on stage."
Once the concert got underway, Madonna took some time to pay tribute to Michael Jackson which included one of her dancers moonwalking across the stage.
Madonna told the audience, "Let's give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known -- Michael Jackson!"
The lyrics to Jackson's hit track "Man in the Mirror" were then flashed up on screen as Madonna took to the stage wearing a black armband and a single white glove, in honor of the late music legend.
