Madonna has been granted permanent adoption of 2-year-old Malawi child David Banda.
The material girl will no longer be required to appear in court for the adoption approval. Authorities in the African country and confident that since he has been in Madonna's care, David has developed into "a happy thriving toddler".
Malawian social workers have been looking in on David's progress at the home of Guy Ritchie and Madonna.
The criteria they had to pass were a test for safe home environment, protection, care and emotional support.
On May 15, the Ritchie's will be the legal guardians of the boy.
