Biographer Andrew Morton has released a three decade old recording of Madonna, before she became famous.
The tape was made by Ed Gilroy and his brother Dan, who was Madonna's boyfriend at the time. The Gilroy's went on to their own fame in the 80's band The Breakfast Club and had a hit with 'Right On Track' in 1987.
The recording was made in the basement of a New York synagogue, where Madonna and Dan lived at the time. She tells how she wrote her very first song 'Tell The Truth' in the building. It has never been released.
In a statement at thedailybeast.com, Morton says "It is sweet and raw. It signifies to me how far she has come, a reminder of the explosion of talent."
