Madonna lands role in animated film

Madonna has landed a role in new animated movie Puss in Boots.

The film is a spin-off from Shrek 2, with Antonio Banderas returning to voice his Puss character.

A friend of Madonna's told The Sun's Bizarre column: "Madonna fancied doing something totally different and this sounded like so much fun.

"She is a fan of Shrek and thought Antonio was the best thing about the sequel."

It has not yet been decided which character the singer will provide a voice for.

Puss In Boots is the second animated role that Madonna has agreed to star in.
