SPOTLIGHT ON NORWAY
This year The Great Escape will be focusing on 3 of the brightest young stars sailing across the North Sea from Norway - 120 Days, The Lionheart Brothers and Adjagas. Allow us to introduce you...
120 Days – This electro rock outfit are signed to the Norwegian label Smalltown Supersound and have been making quite a stir in Norway. Their debut album was released in the USA last Autumn through Vice Records (Bloc Party, The Streets, Death From Above 1979).
The Lionheart Brothers – This psychedelic rock band released their second album earlier this year called 'Dizzy Kiss' which was praised by the Norwegian press and shot to number 14 in the national top 40 charts.
Adjagas is a yoik group based in Sapmi, located in the desolate areas of Northern Norway. A yoiker is a singer or a chanter with a Saami origin, and it represents a very historically important part of the musical history of Northern Europe.

CONFERENCES
The Music Ally Music in Media Day. This is a one day conference looking at the business of music in advertising, film, TV and games. These represent some of the key growth areas for music, alongside digital, as the recorded music business continues to suffer. The event features an international line up of key senior executives and case studies from across the various sectors. It will provide high quality debate and provide excellent networking opportunities, bringing executives from music, advertising, television and film together to discuss the cutting edge issues of the day. Key topics include how music, brands and agencies should work together in a fragmented advertising environment; the growing opportunities for music licensing and distribution in games; how the digital broadcast era will impact rights owners and the importance of the BBC to music; and analysis of the process by which film music supervisors choose music for films. The event is being supported by AIM, BPI and MPA.
The Music Ally Digital Day. This is a one-day conference focussing on the latest and forthcoming developments in the digital music and media worlds.
