Mariah Carey sang through the pain of excruciating injuries when she performed in New York Saturday night.
The singer suffered a cracked rib, a fractured shoulder and several bruises last Sunday when she slipped on the set of her new music video for her single #Beautiful.
Doctors had to pop her shoulder back into its socket.
Days later she admitted she was still in "a lot of pain" on Twitter.
She also vowed that the "show must go on".
Mariah made good on that promise Saturday with a previously scheduled benefit show at Central Park's Great Lawn in Manhattan.
The singer took the stage for a glittering performance with the New York Philharmonic.
She took to Twitter again shortly before the show, refusing to allow her injuries to dampen her resolve.
"Just about to take the stage with the NY Philharmonic, excited!!!" Mariah wrote.
The concert was held in association with Major League Baseball to benefit Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
Mariah told fans earlier this week she would be giving it her all on stage.
"In a sling, but will do my best to make it look good w/ the ensemble Sat w/ the NY philharmonic, an amazing honor for such a great cause (sic)," she tweeted.
The star's husband, Nick Cannon, told the Today Show earlier this week his wife has been a "trooper".
The comedian revealed she even returned the music video set to complete the shoot after being released from hospital.
He also detailed how the accident occurred.
"She was in this nice, beautiful gown, heels on and everything, and was kind of on this platform and reached and slipped and fell on her whole side," Nick said.
"It was pretty serious."
Mariah is planning to release her 11th studio album, The Art of Letting Go, later this year.
