Mariah Carey has reportedly been buying baby items.
The singer - who is said to have made an offer on a $125 million French Chatreau-style mansion in Los Angeles - has sparked rumours she is expecting a girl after splashing out $200,000 on items including a pink crib and highchair.
She has also consulted an interior decorator for advice on styling a nursery.
A source said: "It's 45,000 sq ft and looks like a European castle. It's so big, it can't even be called a mansion - it's similar to Buckingham Palace!
"She has asked interior decorator Kenneth Bordewick to advise on her new home and has requested an all-pink nursery. It's going to be over the top!"
Despite planning the baby room, Mariah - who married Nick Cannon in a secret ceremony last year - is not believed to be pregnant.
A source said: "Mariah has tossed around the idea of adopting."
The couple were seen leaving a Beverly Hills' Southern California Reproductive Center earlier this month, where they reportedly met with a prenatal specialist.
Mariah, 38, is said to be desperate to give birth before she turns 40 next March.
However, Nick, 28, is not ready to rush into starting a family.
He said recently: "We'll have kids soon. Like a couple of years soon."
