Mariah Carey is reportedly receiving $300,000 (£199,179) for a one-hour store appearance.
The All I Want for Christmas is You singer is set to pocket a big cheque during a whistle-stop visit to a Pier 1 pop-up store in New York on Tuesday night (01Dec15) - and she won't even have to sing for the cash.
"Let's call it 45 minutes," a source laughed to the New York Daily News' Confidenti@l column. "She specifically wanted (it noted) that she was 'appearing' not 'performing'. They (fans) would have loved her to perform but just getting her is worth it."
Mariah reportedly got final approval of the invite, according to the publication's source, and wanted to be called the 'Queen of Christmas'. The Hero singer is rumoured to be arriving at 7.30pm, more than 90 minutes after guests arrive.
"She has to do nothing," the insider continued. "Show up, wave a little, talk to a few pre-approved outlets. She's in town, so why not make all the money you can?"
A rep for Pier 1, a furniture and home decor retailer, told Confidenti@l: "We are very excited to be working with Mariah Carey this holiday season, but we do not comment on private business matters."
Mariah is also preparing for the Hot for the Holidays event, organised by rapper Busta Rhymes, in New Jersey on 5 December (15).
The mother-of-two and self-confessed Christmas superfan has an extremely busy advent calendar this year - she has a new children's book named after her famous Christmas hit and a festive movie she directed, called A Christmas Melody, debuting on America's Hallmark Channel later this month (Dec15).
