Jamie Salter of Authentic Brands Group, which partnered with media company NECA to acquire the Marilyn Monroe estate, said he hoped to make new films featuring the bombshell actress.
He said: 'These celebrities don't talk back. They don't go out on the town late. They are ready to film every day.'
New digital technology being pioneered in Hollywood allows dead actors to appear in new movies.
The firms also hope to launch a new line of Monroe-branded clothing for curvy women. Her likeness will also appear on handbags, perfumes and home goods.
'We're not really interested in the trinkets and trash,' Salter told the New York Post. 'Don't get me wrong, it's a good business - calendars, posters and shot glasses - but that's not what we want to do with Marilyn Monroe.'
Monroe died in August 1962 at the age of 36.
