Massive Attack will curate this year's Meltdown Festival, it has been announced.
The band, who yesterday confirmed a summer appearance at the Glastonbury Festival in June, will choose the acts at the event.
They follow in the footsteps of Morrissey, Scott Walker, Jarvis Cocker, David Bowie and John Peel in taking on the role.
In a statement, Massive Attack told people what they could expect at the 15th annual artistic gathering.
"It's an honour to host Southbank Centre's Meltdown Festival and to be in such inspiring company as its previous curators.
"In addition to the music, we want this year's festival to have a strong political and visual element to it to reflect our influences and obsessions.
"Our aim is to mix it up a bit by instigating collaborations that make sense and probably some that don't", they explained.
Meltdown 2008 takes place on the South Bank in London from June 14.
