The Can’t Touch This star took offence after Jay-Z did a rap on Kanye West’s album So Appalled, in which he said: 'And Hammer went broke so you know I'm more focused. I lost 30 mil so I spent another 30, 'cause unlike Hammer 30 million can't hurt me.'
Hammer retaliated on new track Better Run Run, in which he claims Jay-Z is an imposter and stole his 'swagger'.
According to AllHipHop.com, Jay-Z tried to calm the situation by claiming the lyrics had been misinterpreted and that he’s actually a fan of the rap stalwart, having praised him in his latest book, Decoded.
And it looks like Hammer is finally starting to come round. He told the website: 'As a responsible veteran of twenty-something years of this, I can't leave it out there with tensions. I am reading comments on both sides - it's not about that, I have seen all of that before. There is an opportunity to say at some point we [should move] onto the next thing. You know, Jay took his shot and I answered. Now let's move on.'
