Thousands of Meat Loaf fans have been left disappointed yet again after the singer pulled out of a concert.

The US entertainer was due to play at the MEN Arena in Manchester on Sunday night but cancelled on doctor's orders due to acute laryngitis.

His show in Birmingham on Friday was also postponed but his advisors were hoping the Manchester date would go ahead as planned.

Meat Loaf said: "Performing for my fans is the most important thing in the world to me. Over the years, I've gone on stage with a broken foot and an arrhythmic heart.

"It was devastating having to come off stage in Newcastle but over time I've reluctantly learned that I have to abide by what the doctors tell me to do."
