Melanie Brown would love Adele to join the Spice Girls for their reported upcoming anniversary tour.
Rumours have been rife for months that the hit girl group will be reuniting this year (16) to mark 20 years since the release of their debut single Wannabe.
It has been reported that Victoria Beckham and now Mel C, a.k.a Melanie Chisholm, had proved to be stumbling blocks in arranging a reunion, and Adele is said to have offered her services if the group need a replacement at any point.
Asked what she thought about the Hello singer joining the Spice Girls during an interview on British television show Lorraine on Wednesday (11May16), Mel B laughed: "Oh Adele, that would be good! I love her! We all love her!"
Mel is currently in the U.K. to host the British LGBT Awards on Friday (13May16). After flying in on Tuesday (10May16) she was quick to meet up with former bandmates Emma Bunton and Geri Horner (nee Halliwell), and said the girls couldn't help discuss plans for a reunion.
"I mean, we definitely want to do something," Mel explained. "It's a celebration of us still doing our thing 20 years on and still being supportive of each other, so we will see what happens. We are all just kind of in talks right now.
"It's funny because I landed yesterday and I met up with a few of my Spices and we were doing a big time reminisce. I had a nice little cup of tea with Geri and Emma last night and it was lovely."
While Mel was born in England, she spends most of her time in Los Angeles, where her three daughters go to school. But she has always been something of a globetrotter, and said in the interview that she's a fan of the nomadic lifestyle.
"I come over a lot for work but I'm based in Los Angeles, I have been for about the last 12 or 13 years as my kids go to school there," she said. "But then I have spent a bit of time in Australia and New York - I'm a bit of a gypsy and I like that."
Mel is married to producer Stephen Belafonte, with the pair's somewhat volatile relationship hitting the headlines over the past few years. But as she chatted to Lorraine, Mel admitted it's her husband's culinary skills that really snared him the singer.
"I kind of hit the jackpot with that one because I am the worst cook ever," she laughed. "I will burn boiling water and toast. So my husband cooks everything for the family and it can be healthy or not so healthy, he does an array so I'm kind of lucky like that."
