Michael Bublé tried to brag to his now-wife about the arena he was playing - only for her to explain she'd performed in a similar one aged 14.
The Canadian singer was instantly smitten when he met Luisana Lopilato. She is a huge star in her native Argentina and Michael initially misjudged just how tuned in to fame she was.
"I remember taking her to an arena, showing off and she was like, 'Yeah, I've played arenas like this before. I was 14.' And I just thought, 'Wow!'" he laughed to the latest edition of UK Glamour magazine.
Michael and Luisana are expecting their first child together, a boy. He couldn't be happier but finds it hard to pin down exactly when he realised his wife was the one for him.
"Oh I don't think anyone knows. Do you, really? I think you hope," he said. "I met someone who had the same ideas I have about life. Falling in love for me was becoming best friends with somebody. She's funny, endearing. Every time I go to dinner, everyone leaves liking her more than they like me. It's true! People say, 'Oh, it was lovely to meet you, Michael, you're lovely, but boy is she great.' She's cheeky, feisty; she calls me out on all my BS. She calls it breaking my balls."
Michael and Luisana can't wait to welcome their new arrival, with the singer recently saying he'd love the tot to be a soccer star. Although Luisana's pregnancy is progressing well the couple still feel a little overawed. Knowing he is to be a father has totally changed Michael's outlook on life and he is worrying less about his career.
"Every day we say, 'Can you believe this is happening?' We're just thrilled, excited, in disbelief. It sounds really stupid because it's been done a zillion times by a zillion people. But never for me," he said.
"The truth is, when my wife told me we were going to have a baby, all of those thoughts went away. My priorities are my wife and the kid. I've got bigger fish to fry."
