THE play-rate for Michael Jackson's tracks across Britain has soared to astonishing levels since his death with Billie Jean and Thriller topping the charts, it was revealed today.
PRS for Music, which collects royalties of on behalf of artists and songwriters looked at the number of plays of Jacko tracks across radio, television and online in the 100 days before his death on June and 100 days after.
In the four months since Michael Jackson's death, his estate has brought in $90 million, according to Forbes magazine.
Adding to Jackson's total was the $60 million Sony shelled out for the rights to This is It, which had its premiere last night.
Michael's music also garnered huge profits since his untimely passing on June 25, selling an estimated 9 million albums worldwide, in addition to more than 5.5 million digital downloads.
