Mick Hucknall will be visiting a cinema near you this week when Virgin Media unveils its latest ad campaign featuring the Manchester musician.
The Simply Red singer has been immortalised using the very latest animation techniques and appears alongside Virgin's founder Sir Richard Branson in a tongue-in-cheek advert to promote the company's TV and Video on Demand offering.
With state-of-the-art animation, vibrant characters and an entertaining script packed full of double entendres, the commercial will run across the country in all Odeon and Cineworld cinemas from Friday 20th June.
The ad is set in KWACCS, a futuristic age correction clinic in Switzerland. When Mick visits the clinic, he is greeted by a burly female doctor who prescribes Catch Up TV from Virgin Media in a bid to help him 'hold back zee years'. When Mick leaves the clinic accompanied by an attractive blonde 'night nurse' to begin his treatment, the audience see the Swiss doctor uncover her elaborate disguise to reveal none other than Sir Richard Branson, who was behind the plot all along.
Thrilled with the final result, Mick said, "I think the advert looks great. It's just a bit of fun that I hope everyone will enjoy. The animation is very realistic, perhaps a bit too realistic… there are certain characteristics others tell me they've got down to a tee!"
Mick Hucknall is the first celebrity to sign up to the animated adverts from Virgin Media and there is already a hotly anticipated follow-up planned for September.
