Wills, 52, died from the serious injuries he sustained after the cycling accident. Now, tributes have flooded in for the Liverpool music giant from the many artists he inspired and helped throughout his illustrious and colourful career.
Through Deltasonic. Wills signed and released music by some of the most influential artists to emerge from the Liverpool area, including The Coral, the Zutons, The Dead 60's, The Little Flames, The Rascals, The Longcut, as well as working as publisher for Miles Kane and his side-project with Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner, The Last Shadow Puppets.
The Coral frontman James Skelly told The Liverpool Echo "Alan was a true and loyal friend. I am gutted", while Miles Kane tweeted:
RIP Alan Wills such sad news he made me believe in my dreams and gave me my first break and that I'll never forget big love to the family!x
Icicle Works frontman Ian Mcnabb added: "I knew Alan off and on for 30 years. First I knew him as the drummer in Shack and Top then as the driving force behind his record and publishing companies.
"He helped many local musicians live their dreams through his hard work and belief in their music. He was passionate about the things that count in this life and I am very sad to hear he has been taken away in the cruelest and most shocking way possible.
"Another great musical mentor of Liverpool has gone too soon. Thoughts with family and friends."
