US rapper, Mos Def, has landed the role of Chuck Berry in Darnell Martin's film about the legendary Chess Records label. Def has already cut his teeth on film in Michel Gondry's recent comedy, Be Kind Rewind, and previously in The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.
Beyonce will take the role of singer Etta James, while Adrian Brody plays the label co-founder, Leonard Chess.
The film, Cadillac Records, will include portrayals of legendary figures Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, and Cedric The Entertainer.
