Nadine Coyle said her proposal was no surprise

Nadine Coyle knew her fiance was going to propose because he emailed her rings to look at.

The pop star was expecting NFL football player Jason Bell to pop the question because he had been dropping hints for months.

Nadine ' who got engaged last month - said: "I sort of expected it. He was talking about it for a while. I knew he was dropping hints . Then he emailed me these websites, saying, 'Look at this ring,' and, 'What do you like about this one?' But when he actually asked me to marry him, it still came as a huge surprise because it was first thing in the morning and he was acting really weird. But it was nice.

"I didn't cry. That's what his sister said straight away, 'Did she cry?' Jason replied, 'Nadine, cry? No!' "

Although she's been working hard on her solo career, Nadine has been in contact with bandmate Nicola Roberts since she got engaged.

She explained to the UK edition of HELLO! magazine: ' was talking to Nicola. She said, 'Congratulations,' and, 'That's lovely.' It was really nice to hear from her. But I think everybody is so busy. I've been finishing work so late, my eyes have been banging together!'
