Television personality Nick and his singing sensation wife Mariah are currently expecting their first child together.
Nick and Mariah are remaining tight-lipped about their upcoming parenthood though, notably throughout rumours they may be expecting twins.
In a recent interview Nick was prepared to discuss baby names though, although his suggestions weren’t altogether serious.
"Cleophis Cannon, that's not working?" laughed the 30-year-old hunk in a recorded interview with Rachael Ray which airs today.
Nick admitted he and Mariah had been discussing possible baby names for a long time, even before Mariah was expecting. The star said they found it funny how they shared the same last initial, which made name selecting all the more enjoyable.
"We always picked out a few [baby] names," he confessed. "From the day we met, we picked out names...because ironically we had the same last initial—Carey and Cannon."
Joking aside, Nick admitted the pair have already made a decision, and won’t be sharing their choice until Mariah gives birth. The star also referred to the situation in singular and plural terms, making no attempt to clear up the twin rumours.
"We picked them out, so we are sticking to it. So far, so far," he revealed. "I heard they tend to change. I heard you never let anyone know the name. People start to weigh in on it and I heard that, you know, once it actually happens, the name..."
