The couple recently became parents on April 30 when Carey gave birth to their twins Moroccan and Monroe.
Speaking to PEOPLE about his wife, he said: 'She really knows what being a woman is about now. This whole journey has been eye opening, she'll tell you that.'
Cannon, 30, added that his priorities have changed since he became a dad.
He said: 'It's just the beginning, so I'm expecting it to change a little more.'
Cannon said he is 'growing every day and knowing that I have to be an example for two lives'.
